In 1997, UK Gold received a revamp as part of the formation of the UKTV network. UK Gold’s new idents depicted objects such as apples or leaves falling through the top half of the screen, with only the gold coloured ones reaching the bottom half of the screen. These idents were briefly adopted for UK Gold 2 when it launched in 1998.
